New Soapstone Mortar and Pestle. This set was made in India and comes in the original box. This is a very nice set in that the bowl itself is over 1.5in deep and 5in long. This is a great size for working with the larger herbs that tend to fall out of the smaller bowls. Bowl is slightly ridged and shaped like a canoe. This ridging is something that is only found in the better mortars. This eases the grinding and helps hold the herbs or nuts as you work.
